The Secret to Becoming a Millionaire

I have a secret to tell you.

There is no magic script for cold calling.

There is no secret funnel.

There is no magical way to door knock.

There’s no such thing as a perfect ad campaign.

Or a perfect website.

Or the best way to send someone a message.

You can spend half your life watching videos, talking to people in your industry, asking them what they did to become successful.

And for the ones that truly ARE successful, have done ONE magical thing.

They DID something.

They took action.

They did a few things over and over and over again until they found the perfect script that sounded just like them, that delivered value that people believed in and convinced them that the outcome of working with them or buying their product was realistic and possible.

The trick is simple:

  • Find the 1-2 things that you can do over and over again, without fail, every day. Things that you will always have energy for. Things that you don’t mind doing all the time because they generate great results.
  • Do them every day, several times a day.
  • Rinse and repeat.

The folks who constantly search for the magical answer to their problems never become rich. So what stops them?

Why you’ll never be a millionaire

There are two ways to ensure you NEVER make a million bucks.

  • You don’t believe in what you’re selling, or the impact it will have on the lives of your customers
  • You haven’t taken the time to figure out what your customers really want, all the way down to the cellular level – understanding what they hope for, dream about and fear the most.

If you literally spend quality time figuring out the answer to those two questions, and diligently present your product or service to your target prospects over and over again – you’ll be a millionaire.

You are your biggest obstacle

“But people will be annoyed with me if I contact them every day!”

Only if you say annoying things, and never give them anything of value.

“But if I walk my neighbourhood every day, the neighbours will see me and think that I’m just wandering around, stalking the neighbourhood!”

Or they’ll think you’re the most disciplined and determined person they’ve ever seen and applaud you for your efforts.

The only thing that will make the magic disappear is your inability to believe that you’re good enough, that what you offer has value.

So many people second-guess themselves, worried sick that they may be perceived in a negative light by their peers, competitors or family.

But those stories are all in your head.

The story you tell yourself that people will find your sales tactics annoying? FALSE!

The story you make up about competitors thinking you’re begging for business? Fuck ‘em!

The only person whose opinion matters is your own. Are you working hard? Are you really thinking of the client and over-delivering on service? Are you doing the same important things, day in and day out, so that they’re ingrained in your business and your brain?

Then you’ll do just fine.

You don’t need everyone (you just need the right ones)

A full 30% of the people you’ll target won’t like you. Get over it. They’re not your people.

The other 70% are either neutral, or receptive. It’s your job to understand their needs, and deliver your pitch so that it’s real, valuable and believable.

I could teach this over and over again, and the folks that really want to be a millionaire will listen.

The ones too far into their fear will hear rumblings of something good, and then go back to their comfort zone (or their “uncomfort” zone).

And the folks that think I’m full of shit will ignore this blog entirely.

And I don’t care.

Because I know what it takes to make a million bucks a year and I don’t care what other people think about it, as long as what I’m doing lines up with my purpose, which is to help as many people as possible live happier, wealthier and more fulfilled lives.

For everyone else, I wish you luck.
